It’s no secret that you and I both have dreams that we would like to see come to light at some point in our lives. Dreams are oftentimes the primary motivator for a person’s optimistic outlook in life. Chasing dreams is a huge, huge part of life and that’s a superb thing. Following your dreams is a superb thing because it feels extraordinarily good to not succumb to adversity and to be able to say that you accomplished something.
Dreams are cool, but sometimes you may feel as if your dreams are unrealistic. I’ve had that same feeling before; having a dream that I felt was never going to manifest into reality. The feelings that your dreams are very distant from you and unattainable are very despairing feelings that do not help us whatsoever in getting what we want.
The reason your dreams feel unrealistic is because they are indeed distant from you. The only way to fix this is to take life one day at a time. Work on achieving your goal one day at a time and do it well because bigger things are composed of smaller things. If your dream feels unrealistic, then you are looking at your dream from afar and you’re looking too far ahead. You should be focusing on what you can do for this day that will allow you achieve your big dream. You’ve got to stop looking so far ahead and start looking at what you can do today or in the next week that will put you closer to your dream.
As you move closer and closer to being able to achieve your big dream, then the feeling that your dream is too unrealistic will begin to diminish. Don’t focus on the war, but focus on the battles instead. Greatness is made of small things combined! To be great is to be great at being small.
